User research consultation
A focused research effort to find out how real users behave and why, so product choices follow what they tell you.
Book an intro call
Who it’s for
Feedback conflicts
Customers ask for different things and no one can rank them.
Features go unused
What ships does not match how people work.
Assumptions run the roadmap
The team has not tested its picture of the user.
Fit
Worth doing when
You have a live product with real users who can be reached, and open questions about what they need. The team is ready to act on what they say.
Not worth doing when
You have no users or product yet. Concept validation before launch is a different service.
How it works
1
Planning call
The questions you need answered, your goals, the product, and what you already believe about users.
2
Participants and data
Access to users for interviews or surveys, plus product usage data or a person who knows it.
3
Fieldwork
Tuesday and Thursday check-ins on interviews completed, patterns appearing and open questions.
4
Findings presentation
What users need, how strongly, the evidence behind each theme, and prioritized recommendations.
5
Optional: apply the findings
Stay on to turn the findings into product changes, scoped separately.
What you assume about users gets tested, not taken as given. The need users stress most is often not the one the team expects.
What you receive
Usage and KPI review
User interview synthesis
Needs and opportunity map
Product recommendations
90-day research-led plan
If what users say does not point to a clear answer, I will say so.
Examples
Users expected one thing and got another
I surveyed users before the trial about what they expected, then after it about whether the experience met those expectations. The gap guided a rebuild of the whole onboarding experience around what users had actually come for.
Where users slide away
Lifecycle stories showed light users gradually drifting into inactivity. Tracing that slide made clear where the team should have intervened earlier, turning a vague engagement concern into a more focused plan for support.
